Official runtime for Christopher Nolan's Tenet revealed
The official runtime for Christopher Nolan's latest sci-fi action feature Tenet has been released by the Korea Media Ratings Board. The long-awaited film reportedly holds a total running time of 149 minutes and 59 seconds, making it one of Nolan's shortest films following 2008's The Dark Knight which is 152 minutes long. Because of this, his Matthew McConaughey-led film Interstellar remains the filmmaker's longest sci-fi feature to date.
The Warner Bros. Pictures film has suffered previous delays regarding its theatrical release and is currently slated for an August 12 release. However, this still might be changed due to a recent surge of new COVID-19 cases as many theaters including all the ones in California have been closed down again which clearly puts movie releases next month in danger of potential delays.
The runtime for The Dark Knight Rises has been confirmed to run 164 minutes. The film stars Christian Bale. Last month, we reported that the runtime for The Dark Knight Rises was 2 hours and 45. Recently, we got word that The Dark Knight Rises would feature over 100 minutes of action - leading some cynics to speculate that the film was ditching story in favor of action set pieces (i.e style over substance). However, confirmation of the film's runtime should put skeptics to rest (not to mention make viewers with small bladders squirm in their seats) as Nolan's final Batman film is set to run a hefty 164 minutes and 27 seconds.
Tenet will be an international espionage thriller filmed across seven countries. John David Washington (BlacKkKlansman) stars, with a supporting cast that includes Robert Pattinson (Good Time), Elizabeth Debicki (Widows), Dimple Kapadia (Fugly), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Michael Caine (The Dark Knight Rises) and Kenneth Branagh (Dunkirk).
The director first made an impact in 2001 with his indie film Memento. His next film, Insomnia, was also a modest hit. but it wasn't until Batman Begins hit theaters in 2005 that Nolan became a box office force in his own right. The Prestige was Nolan's last movie to gross under $200 million worldwide. His other films include The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, Interstellar, and Dunkirk.
